The outside body encounters gazes, place, intrusion, possession.
The inside body encounters silence, togetherness, freedom, and loneliness.
My body is both.
I choose to expose them.
They expose me in return.
Relations between myself and myself,
to the gaze,
to society,
to outside and inside.
The desire for the body alongside the pain within it.
The desire for a body that touches,
that creates matter,
that is matter.
Layers of textile, paper, transparencies, casts, eggs, and mythological imagery accumulate in the space like a body assembled from outside and inside, from desire and violence.
What comes first?
Can one exist without the other?
The longing for touch
and the fear of it.
To be a body in the world.
