Aren’t you ashamed of yourself? | 2023

I recollect memories from my childhood where I was criticized for having an inefficient control over my Arabic language, and being titled as a “traitor” due to that for the following years. The installation consists of a body of works that serve as a response in a playful attitude, to the reactions or the questions I get to deal with on a daily basis.

I introduce the viewer to an enclosed and claustrophobic space that includes handwritten graffiti that says “Ana 5ayne” (translation: I’m a traitor) alongside video works that play on loop as well as a collection of digital collage posters.
