Tar Drawing, 2023, cold tar and Bitumen on duplex paper, 70×100 cm each

This body of work came into being during recent events, which ignited the need and urgency for quick, immediate work. The figures of annunciation angels beside apocalyptic descriptions flood the works.

Working with tar allows a wide range of situations to move from transparency to obscureness: between controlled, supervised painting and wild, expressive stains. The wall is crowded with images associated with the early days of Zionism, ancient manuscripts, archeological findings, and my own family albums.

Under the asphalt, Road fractions, 2023

Fragments and rubble that were once a road lie on the floor heavy and mute. Deep layers are revealed within them – quarries, mines, wells, and graves.

The tar (Bitumen) is present in the two bodies of work, obscure and black, dark material.
