Once, in the middle of a demonstration in Tel Aviv, I suddenly saw my company’s deputy commander from Lebanon next to me. I said hello to him. He didn’t recognize me at first. Then he asked me how I recognized him after thirty years? I told him that I remember people’s faces well. What should I tell him? That he is my commander in my regular ambush every night?

All my battles rage inside me simultaneously –  I am being run over by the mounted police, but also I am landing a helicopter, nightly, to rescue the wounded. Everything is real. I am hit by mortar shells at my post and I am hit by Iranian drones in my building’s shelter. For me, the same reality exists in all dimensions simultaneously.
