The Cave emerges from an ongoing confrontation with complex post-trauma, a condition that continues to replay in the present, destabilizing my sense of safety, orientation, and identity formation.

Using materials and images saturated with time and memory, I construct a space in which imagination, concealment, and fragmentation are not forms of escape from reality, but strategies for dealing with  its violence.

Grids and perspective lines stretch across the space: are they safety nets, or suffocating boundaries, a creative and cognitive prison?

The works express my struggle between the impulses toward rebellion, chaos, and anarchy, and an equally powerful need for logic, boundaries, and security, within a reality, and within a creative process, that repeatedly dismantle them.

As the cave grows more stable, so does the fear that I may no longer find my way out.

The cave does not conceal reality; it reveals the extent to which reality has already penetrated it.
